Please read our written guide below, with tips, further explanation and safety information.
All of our wall art is delicate due to the nature of the fine design of the pieces with of the elements susceptible to breakage if not handled correctly.
Please Note: Using the provided double sided foam blocks will make it difficult to remove the artwork at a later stage. All of our artwork is super light weight and can also be attached to most surfaces with BlueTac or similar adhesive, place small balls the size of a match head of BlueTac around the back of the artwork instead of the double sided foam blacks. We recommend 8 attachment points if using BlueTac. If you wish to permanently attach the artwork to the surface, you may use super glue or a contact adhesive that is compatible with PLA plastic to attach the artwork. (Any super glue that is used to glue plastic will work just fine!)
Most artwork comes with at least 4 blocks of double sided foam tape, where artwork come supplied with a word phrase or other separate pieces the main piece should always have 4 blocks of the double sided foam tape attached to it with the other blocks distributed over the rest of the pieces. The smaller word phrases or pieces need only 1 block.
The wall art is attached to the cardboard backing with red plastic screws comprising of the screw on the front (white side with the artwork) and a nut on the back (brown side) for each screw.
To remove the artwork from the packaging first place a towel on a flat surface such as a dining room or kitchen table.
Lay the artwork face down on the towel.
Remove the shrink wrap by cutting it on the back of the packaging while the artwork is laying face down on the towel. Do not cut the shrink wrap on the front (white cardboard side), you might damage the artwork.
Remove the small blocks of double sided foam tape and place them to the side, these will later be attached to the back of the artwork and used to attached the artwork to the wall or surface where you want it displayed.
Gently push the cardboard on either side of the nut into towel with one hand while gently turning the nut in the direction of the arrow on the nut.
If in the previous step the nut did not loosen then lift the artwork packaging enough to get your hand under the packaging and lightly grip a red screw, with your other hand turn the nut on the back side of the packaging that is on the screw head you are holding with your other hand.
The nut on the back should be turned in the direction of the arrow on the nut while holding the head of the screw on the front side of the packaging to prevent it from turning while you are turning the nut. Do not let the screw head turn as this will rub against the artwork as it turns and may damage it.
Repeat the process until all screws and nuts are removed.
Lift the cardboard backing and place it to the side. The artwork should now be face down on the towel.
Remove the protective film from one side only on the blocks of double sided foam and attach the blocks to the back of the artwork. The blocks should be spread out across the back of the artwork evenly so the weight of the artwork evenly supported when attached.
*** YOU MUST LIFT THE ARTWORK SUPPORTED WITH BOTH HANDS EACH TIME YOU LIFT IT FROM THE TOWEL ***
*** MAKE SURE THE ARTWORK DOES NOT HOOK OR SNAG ON THE TOWEL ***
Now lift the art work with both hands and place it over the area where you wish to attach it checking it fits in the space and how you would like it positioned. Once this check is done place the art work back on the towel with the face down on the towel.
Wipe the area where the art work will be displayed with a cleaning alcohol to remove any dust, grease or other residues that may prevent the double sided foam blocks from attaching to the surface. Allow this to dry prior to moving to the next step.
Remove the protective film from the double sided foam blocks that you previously attached to the artwork.
Now lift the art work with both hands and place it onto the area where you wish to have it displayed, pressed gently over the area where each double sided foam block is located.
That’s it! The shrink wrap, plastic screws and cardboard mounting board are recyclable, please recycle all that you can in your area.
Enjoy the artwork!
Note: It is completely normal that very small pieces of plastic may detach from the artwork while it is being handled, either wipe or vacumn the area once the artwork is installed.
